CoQ10 supports energy, heart health and slows down aging

Coenzyme Q10 (or CoQ10) is a key substance without which normal energy production in cells is impossible. It works as an electron carrier in mitochondria, the body’s energy plants, and protects cells from oxidative stress by reducing inflammation and slowing down the aging process.

CoQ10 supports energy, heart health and slows down aging

CoQ10 exists in two forms — ubiquinone (oxidized) and ubiquinol (reduced). In the mitochondria, it helps to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the body’s main energy. At the same time, ubiquinol acts as a powerful antioxidant, protecting lipids and membranes from destruction by free radicals and restoring other antioxidants, such as vitamin E.

Maintaining CoQ10 balance helps reduce inflammation, strengthen the cardiovascular system, and increase the body’s overall resistance to stress and aging.

Most of the coenzyme Q10 is found in meat offal, especially in chicken hearts, as well as in fatty fish (mackerel, herring). Vegetable sources include rapeseed, flax, and sunflower oils, as well as spinach, avocado, parsley, peanuts, and pistachios.

Coenzyme Q10:

  • increases cellular energy production and stress resistance;
  • improves heart function, reduces blood pressure and supports blood vessels;
  • slows down cell aging, protecting them from oxidative damage;
  • helps with chronic fatigue, decreased tone and age-related changes;
  • supports reproductive and nervous health;
  • accelerates recovery after physical exertion.

Clinical studies show that CoQ10 can improve the condition of patients with heart failure and reduce the risk of hospitalization, as well as improve endurance.

The body produces CoQ10 on its own, but its synthesis decreases with age. Statins, cholesterol—lowering drugs, also reduce the level of the substance. A lack of CoQ10 can be manifested by fatigue, muscle weakness, exercise intolerance, and decreased concentration.

CoQ10 supplements are especially useful for the elderly, patients with cardiovascular or metabolic disorders, and those taking statins.

Coenzyme Q10 is considered safe: even with prolonged use, it is well tolerated. Mild side effects such as nausea, indigestion, or headache are rare. When taking anticoagulants (such as warfarin), consult your doctor, as CoQ10 may reduce their effectiveness.

Coenzyme Q10 is one of the most important allies of health and longevity. It provides energy to every cell, protects the heart and blood vessels, reduces inflammation and helps to stay young longer.

Regular consumption of CoQ10-rich foods or moderate supplementation helps maintain high energy levels and heart health throughout life.
